La Vela Puerca es «la banda de ska-rock más famosa de Uruguay». Fue fundada en 1995 en Montevideo. Sus fundadores fueron Sebastián Teysera (voz principal, frontman y principal compositor), Nicolás Lieutier (bajo) y Santiago Butler (guitarra) – los tres siguen formando parte de la banda en la actualidad. La primera aparición de la banda como La Vela Puerca fue en una fiesta callejera montevideana el 24 de diciembre de 1995. Para entonces, ya se habían incorporado varios miembros nuevos. In response to what you tell us about the fact that, fortunately, the scene in your country has had a greater development and we have been able to get to know several interesting projects such as Cuarteto de Nos, Jorge Drexler, No te va gustar and of course La Vela Puerca. What other projects are there from Uruguay at the moment, that may not have had so much exposure so far, but that you can recommend to us and that are sounding strong in that part of the continent?
LVP Well that’s what I was telling you, the cousins (we call them the cousins of No te va gustar) tell us that Colombia is the most rocker country in the region and that nothing has learned a lot of rock, there are some incredible parties, so many times we go to very populated places, but where rock has not been learned there is no culture like the one we are used to which is Argentina, which is a very rocker country, the most rocker I think more rocker than Mexico and Brazil, of course after comparing with Argentina go to other countries sometimes falls a little rock culture, but we have spoken very well of Colombia, (laughs) there is then a great expectation.
